They are different kinds of asset. Stocks, ETFs and REITs represent shares in companies or funds and can pay dividends or income; physical gold is a metal you own and pays no dividend, rent or interest.

Some differences to be aware of:

Gold can go up and down, and we make no promise about its price. We're simply a Shariah-aligned way to buy physical gold.

We earn a small, transparent margin on the gold — much like a money changer earns on currency. We buy physical gold at wholesale cost and sell it a little higher, and you always see both the buy and sell-back price up front, so there are no hidden fees. There are also small fees when converting savings into a physical bar or arranging delivery.

The spread is the small difference between the price to buy gold and the price to sell it back. It's a normal feature of dealing in physical gold and is standard across the industry.

In short, it reflects the real-world costs of holding physical gold securely on your behalf — so that every gram remains genuinely backed. It also lets us keep pricing simple and transparent, with no hidden fees: the buy and sell-back prices are always shown to you up front, before you confirm anything.

Short answer: both are shown before you confirm, and they pay for different things. You never pay the markup twice.

When you buy gold for your savings, our price is the live gold price plus a markup, currently 14%. If you sell back, we pay currently 91% of our selling price at that moment. So the real cost of buying and then selling straight back is the gap between those two prices, not the full 14%.

Example only, assuming the gold price does not move: if gold is S$100 a gram, you pay S$114. Selling back straight away pays about S$103.74, so the difference is about S$10.26 — 9% of what you paid.

If you later convert your grams into a physical bar, the grams are deducted from your balance and you pay two further amounts, shown before you confirm: a premium for each bar, which covers making the bar as a physical product, and one delivery fee for the whole request.

The markup is paid when you buy gold. The premium and delivery fee are paid only if you want a physical bar. If you would rather not pay them, you can sell your gold back instead, or keep it in your account.

They are two different ways to own gold, so the price per gram is not the same.

Gold savings let you buy gold by the gram at our daily gold price, starting from S$50 and adding whenever you like. A physical bar is a finished, minted bar bought outright in one go. Each bar in the catalogue has its own price for that size, so its price per gram can be higher or lower than the savings price — it depends on the bar size and moves with the gold price.

To compare fairly, divide a bar's total price by its weight in grams. The price is always shown before you confirm.

Buying gold: once your payment is submitted, a purchase cannot be cancelled, so please check the amount and details before you confirm. Refund requests are considered case by case, for example for a failed transaction or a system error. Email us at hello@goldevolutionsg.com with your order reference.

If your payment isn't received in time: the order lapses and you can place a new one at the current price.

Pre-orders: if we cannot source the bar you pre-ordered, you are refunded in full.

Selling and conversions: once a sell request is confirmed it cannot be reversed or cancelled, and a conversion request cannot be cancelled once approved.

Agent Package: any refund request is also considered case by case.

1. Keep your gold — leave it where it is (fully backed and allocated to you). There's no deadline.
2. Take physical delivery — convert your accumulated grams into a physical gold bar, delivered to you or collected at our office.
3. Sell back for cash — sell any or all of your grams at the current buyback price, paid to your registered bank account (same day where possible, max 2 business days).

Short answer: you can check us yourself in a couple of minutes, and your gold is held allocated and not lent out. We are a young company and we say so.

What stands behind your gold:

• Every gram you own is allocated to a specific bar with its own serial number. Each purchase comes with an allocation certificate showing the bar and its photograph.
• The gold is kept at a Certis CISCO safe-deposit facility in our name. We hold it for the customers who own it, and we do not sell, lend or pledge it.
• You can ask us for the current coverage ratio — our physical gold compared with the grams recorded in all customer accounts.
• The strongest proof: you can convert to a physical bar and take delivery yourself.

Your savings are real, physical gold — not a loan to us or a paper IOU. Every gram is recorded to your account and backed one-for-one by physical 999.9 gold we hold, and we deliberately hold more physical gold than the total owed to all customers.

The strongest safeguard is in your hands: once you reach the minimum for a bar, you can convert your savings into a physical gold bar and take delivery yourself — the gold is yours to take. We're also a Registered Dealer regulated under Singapore's Ministry of Law (UEN 202443296N).

If we ever decide to close. We would stop taking new orders first. We would then reconcile every customer’s recorded grams against the physical gold we hold, tell customers how they will be paid out, and return each customer’s gold or its cash value, and only then wind down the platform.

If we ever become insolvent. The value of your grams at the gold price at that point would be reimbursed in accordance with insolvency law, as set out in Section 6 of our Terms. Our Terms do not give any customer priority over other creditors, and we do not promise any timing or outcome.

You don't have to take it on faith. You can log in any time to see the exact grams allocated to you plus an invoice for every transaction, and — the strongest proof of all — you can convert to a physical bar and take delivery yourself. If the gold weren't there, you couldn't withdraw it.

What backs your savings is specific 999.9 fine gold bars with their own assay certificates and serial numbers, kept in a Certis CISCO Safe Deposit facility at Paya Lebar and kept apart from the cash we run the business with. We can share the bar and storage documentation on request.

Your gold cannot overlap with another customer's because of how our ledger system works:

Our gold transactions are structured to follow AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 57 — Gold and its Trading Controls.

Not automatically. Assigning gold to a child, a parent or a savings goal in the app only organises your own balance. The gold stays in your account and you remain its owner, so an assignment does not by itself pass the gold to anyone.

When a customer passes away, their gold forms part of their estate. For Muslim customers the estate is distributed under faraid; for other customers it follows their will and the applicable law. The exception is gold that has been made known as hibah (a gift) to your family and your executor. Whether a hibah is valid is a matter for you and your own adviser.

Gold Evolution does not decide who inherits. We act on the instructions of the executor or administrator of the estate and, where a hibah has been made known, of your family, once we have received the documents we reasonably require. Because grams cannot be transferred between accounts, we settle the holdings either by a sale back to us at our buyback price, with the proceeds paid to the estate, or by physical delivery or collection of the gold. A beneficiary who wants to hold gold with us can open their own account.
