However, we are deeply committed to operating our business model as closely as possible to Shariah principles, with ongoing guidance from an Ustaz. We are actively working towards obtaining formal Shariah certification.
Yes. We have designed Gold Evolution to be as closely aligned with Shariah values as possible — no riba (interest), no paper gold, no derivatives, no leverage. All gold is physical 999.9 fine gold, individually allocated to your name (qabdh) upon payment confirmation, in accordance with the principles of AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 57.
What Shariah standards does Gold Evolution follow?

1. AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 57 — Gold & its Contemporary Applications
The Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) standard governing the buying, selling, and saving of gold. We follow its requirements for physical ownership, immediate exchange, and prohibition of paper gold or gold-backed derivatives. [aaoifi.com ↗]
2. OIC Fiqh Academy Resolutions on Gold Trading
Rulings from the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) confirm that gold must be traded on a spot basis (hand-to-hand / yad bi yad). All purchases on Gold Evolution result in immediate allocation — no deferred delivery or futures contracts. [iifa-aifi.org ↗]
3. Qabdh (Constructive Possession)
Upon payment confirmation, your gold grams are immediately allocated to your account — satisfying the requirement of qabdh before you have full rights over the gold. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Do not sell what you do not have." Physical delivery or sell-back is available at any time. [Abu Dawud 3503 ↗]
4. No Riba (Interest)
We charge no financing fees, no interest on balances, and no borrowing against your gold. Allah says: "Allah has permitted trade and forbidden interest." All transactions are straightforward cash-for-gold exchanges.

5. No Gharar (Excessive Uncertainty)
Pricing is transparent and based on live international spot rates. The Prophet ﷺ "forbade transactions involving gharar (uncertainty)." You see the exact gram price and total before confirming any order — no hidden charges or ambiguous structures. [Muslim 1513 ↗]
6. No Maysir (Speculation / Gambling)
Gold Evolution does not offer leveraged trading, margin accounts, or any speculative gold products. Allah says: "O believers! Intoxicants, gambling... are abominations... so avoid them." Every gram you purchase is backed by real physical gold. [Quran 5:90 ↗]
7. Bay' al-Sarf (Rules for Trading in Monetary Commodities)
As gold is a ribawi commodity, it must be exchanged hand-to-hand (yad bi yad) with no deferment. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Gold for gold, weight by weight, equal for equal — hand to hand. If the types differ, sell as you wish, so long as it is hand to hand." Our platform allocates gold only after payment is received and verified. [Muslim 1587 ↗]
8. 999.9 Fine Physical Gold Only
We deal exclusively in 999.9 purity (24-karat) physical gold bars from LBMA-approved refiners. No synthetic gold, no ETFs, no paper certificates — only real, tangible gold. This ensures the exchange involves a known, defined commodity as required in Shariah for valid bay' (sale).
9. Individual Allocation
Your gold is tracked individually under your name — it is not pooled or co-mingled without traceability. This upholds the Shariah requirement that ownership (milkiyyah) must be clearly defined and attributable to the buyer, consistent with the qabdh principle above.

How do I know my gold won't be given to someone else?

Your gold cannot overlap with another customer's because of how our ledger system works:

Individual ledger records. Every gram you own is recorded under your name in our secure database. No two customers share the same allocation record.

Total customer gold ≤ Physical gold held. We maintain a real-time reconciliation check: the sum of all customer gold allocations must never exceed the total physical gold bars we physically hold. This is our core solvency rule.

No new gold is allocated without a physical purchase. We only add gold to our inventory when we physically acquire bars from suppliers. Your allocation is drawn from that physical stock — not created from thin air.

Bar-level tracking. Our system assigns your grams to specific bar serial numbers. You can request to know which bar(s) back your allocation at any time.
Think of it like a bank vault: the vault holds 1,000g of gold, and each customer's passbook says exactly how many grams they own. The total of all passbooks cannot exceed 1,000g — that is how we guarantee no overlap.
What is the minimum savings amount?

You can start saving from just S$50, paying by debit card or PayNow. Each deposit adds fractional grams to your gold balance, which you can track in real-time on your dashboard.
Can I withdraw my gold physically?

Yes. Once your savings reach a full bar milestone (1g, 5g, 10g, or 100g), you can request physical delivery or collection. Alternatively, sell conveniently via the platform at any time.
Is Gold Evolution regulated?

Yes. Gold Evolution Pte Ltd is a Registered Regulated Dealer under the Ministry of Law Singapore (PSPM Act), UEN 202443296N. We comply with all applicable AML/CFT regulations.
Where is my gold physically stored?

All physical gold is stored at Certis Safe Deposit Box, a trusted secure storage facility in Singapore. Each bar is individually allocated and recorded to your account. Your allocation certificate, accessible in the app, serves as proof of your specific holding.
Can I sell my gold to someone else or on an open market?

It depends on what you own. If you have purchased a physical gold bar, it is your property and you are free to sell it to anyone — another dealer, a jeweller, or on any open market. However, the accumulated grams held on this platform (digital allocation) can only be sold back to Gold Evolution. We operate a buyback-only model for digital gold — we are the sole buyer at our posted buyback rate, which is based on the live spot price. The buyback rate is always visible in the app before you confirm any sale.
How do I pay?

Card payments are debit-card only. Credit cards are declined — this keeps your purchase free from interest-based (riba) financing, in line with our Shariah commitment.
You can pay by debit card or PayNow:
- Debit card — pay instantly online; your gold is allocated automatically once payment succeeds.
- PayNow — scan the QR / pay to UEN 202443296N and upload your proof; our team verifies and allocates your gold, usually within 1 hour.
Monthly savings plans are charged automatically to your debit card each month.
Can I save automatically every month?

Yes — set up a monthly savings subscription and we will automatically buy gold for you every month using your debit card. It takes the decision out of saving: no more wondering each month whether to put money aside — it simply happens for you, helping you build your gold steadily and benefit from dollar-cost averaging over time. You can change or cancel anytime from your profile, and billing stops immediately.
